A great shepherd had lived on earth and became the man after God’s own a long time ago. Moreover, because of the Lord’s perfect love for humanity, He sent His only begotten Son, who served as our “ever-present help” to receive the free gift of salvation.
In the present times, our Shepherd is not far away from us. His presence in our spirit stirs a desire in us to eat of His Word, drink of Him, come to Him, walk according to Him, and rest in Him. He is just a prayer away to come according to our needs.
“In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace.” (Ephesians 1:7)
Before Jesus descended here on earth, there is no possibility of the forgiveness of sins. The price to redeem ourselves from our sinful nature is beyond our reach but not so with God; it comes from the riches of His grace which are infinite. It is in Him (Jesus) that we have redemption and it is through His blood by which redemption is achieved. Only in Him, we could find the genuine redemption that we need.
