One day, while traversing the highway, a colleague and I noticed a failure on the asphalted pavement resulting in a sagged and humped road. I told him, “That was the result of poor preparation of the BASE, which engineers call, ‘Base Course.’ ” It reminded me of a lesson I learned from my engineering subject– a good base must be founded on solid hard rock.
Merriam-Webster’s Dictionary defines a base as “the part on which something rests or is supported.”
In real life, no matter how high your dreams and achievements are, if your “BASE” is poor and not founded on solid rock, it will fail (Matthew 7:24-27).
If we want to be successful in life, we must have a good “BASE” – a basic education founded on the Word of God, and a spiritual life founded on Jesus Christ and His Word.
