“Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it.”
Matthew 7:13 (NKJV)
Given a choice, people would choose the wider road—the convenient, easy, or popular way. It is the path always taken by the majority. BUT just a caution because that path may not always be right. Not because everybody is doing ‘it’ means ‘it’ is the right thing to do.
On the contrary, God’s people (that’s us!), should at all times weigh things first, pray, before we make a choice. Be proud to be a remnant, a small minority. This choice may be difficult, lonely, and even costly (yes, even losing our friends at times).
We can walk on the wide way and keep our “baggage” of sin and worldliness, or choose to enter the narrow way that will strip us of filth, for at the end – 14“Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.”
