ptrrodel (1)And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children (Deuteronomy 6:6-7)

Someone has said, “Your home is the first school into which your child is first enrolled.” It is affirmed by an article in a Bible Commentary which says, “Children have a way of imitating their parents, either for good or for bad and researchers tell us that teenagers learn to drink at home and not from peers.” The same article says, “Little children learn first by example, then by explanation.”

As parents, below are what we can learn from the aforementioned studies:

1. Everything, including bad habits, is first learned by children at home because they imitate you parents;
2. No matter how good your explanation is, children will learn from what they see in you and will do just the same; and
3. As your children’s first teacher, you have to teach them what God has commanded in Deuteronomy 6:6-7, so you can lead  them to God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
