Ambo was about to die due to a critical illness. He summoned his two friends—a politician and a lawyer.
When his friends arrived at the hospital room, Ambo asked one to sit at his right and the other to sit at left side. His friends asked, “Why did you ask us to come? Do you have something important to tell us?”
In his very soft voice, Ambo answered, “Jesus died between two thieves. I also want to die that way.”
There are three things that we are unsure about in life: When to die, where to die and how we are going to die. However, there is one important thing in life that we can be sure about.
In John 11:25, Jesus said, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die…”
By making a decision to believe, we are given an assurance of an everlasting life. This is the thing we can be sure about…the thing we should mind in life, for here lies the eternal state of our soul.
