Isaiah 9:6 “For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”
There is a joy in giving. Every human being, no matter what their beliefs, convictions, or cultures are, wants to receive gifts. A gift is made to be received. A gift is nothing if its intention will not be fulfilled. There will be no gift without a giver. A gift exists because the giver discerns a need. Giving, then, is impossible without receiving.
Christmas is approaching and many people are celebrating the season but might be unaware that they are rejecting the reason. They may accept a gift but not receive it. You may receive a meal but not eat it. You may receive money but not spend it.
Being a Christian is not just simply receiving Jesus as our Lord and Saviour after praying the sinner’s prayer. It’s just a part of the big picture of entering God’s kingdom. You may receive life but not experience it. It means to say, accepting Jesus is to experience Him as we have a transformed life. As you possess that life, organize it and give it to others so they may experience it too.
