Today, April 1, is celebrated by some people as April Fool’s Day, which is characteristically marked by playing practical jokes.
For us, born again Christians, we no longer celebrate this occasion. We admit though that we were once fools by reason of our being depraved. However, God spared us and we are no longer insignificant (no longer fools, so to speak) in His sight.
But then, the fool has said in his heart, “There is no God.” (Psalm 14:1a)
Conversely, we believe that there is a God who made the heavens and the earth. He is the all-powerful, all-knowing God who is able, who understands and cares for us.
Wisdom and knowledge come from Him. So, we no longer want to be a fool. “A fool vents all his feelings, but a wise man holds them back.” (Proverbs 29:11)
Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is. (Ephesians 5:17)
What is God’s will for you today? His will is that you may know Him deeper, personally, and all His ways!
Be wise,
Ptr. Francis A. Honorio
