In this digital age where we live, it is very tempting to find superficial joy in cultural connectivity. There has been an increase of dependency on the instant gratification and feedback we get from social media. There is a compulsion to publish something online to see how people react to it. We desire to see how many followers we have, how many like we get. Most of the time we anchor our joy from what people say about us whether on social media or from people we meet personally.
Real joy is found in union with Jesus Christ alone. I encourage everyone to hold fast and be faithful in reading the Word of the Lord every day–giving our utmost priority in memorizing the Scriptures more than minding the issues online with the people we know.
You may have experienced a devastating blow of trials in your life and tried to find your joy from other things including social media. But do not lose heart, continue to allow the Holy Spirit to activate you joy today. You have a great reward in Jesus and it is far greater than anything in this world.
Let us continue to find our joy in Jesus Christ alone.
Let those who delight in my righteousness shout for joy and be glad and say everymore, Great is the Lord, who delights in the welafare of his servant!” Psalm 35:27
Joyful Sunday everyone!
