Thinking of what to give to Jesus this Christmas?
Matthew 2:11 (NIV) “On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshipped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh.”
The wise men knew what give to give. They knew it was for the Messiah, who came to be with us as the Savior of mankind; and so, they brought the best gift for Him–their extravagant worship and their treasures.
They went into His presence falling on the ground helpless and shattered for they have seen the promise of God unfolding right before their eyes. They opened up not their pockers, not their baskets, but their treasures.
This Sunday, as you enter the sanctuary, give Jesus the best worshop. Lift those hands, dance for Him, welcome His holy presence, and as you give your treasure to God, let me give you a hint: “You can never outgive God.
Merry Christmas to all!
