A wonderful morning to everyone! It is a privilege to convey my story to all of you. First, my name is Elmio Dela Torre. I have a beautiful wife, a daughter, and an awesome son. Last February 12, 2019, I experienced chest pains and heart palpitation. At first, I ignored it. However, as the time passed by, I had a hard time breathing to the extent that I was breathing through my mouth because my chest really hurt and I couldn’t breathe enough air. Even when I yawned, I have to take it slow in order to breathe properly.
That was February 16 when I visited a doctor and I underwent ECG and series of blood tests. Based on the X-ray results, my heart had enlarged. And the doctor said I needed more medical tests to identify the specific disease which I had. That Saturday before I was advised to take test, I attended the ExCEL service. That time, Bro. Elmer Batutay was the one standing here in front, clearly declaring how God healed him. Then I silently pray, “Lord, I know that I will be healed here in ExCEL just like you did to him.” I took an exercise test called stress test- to monitor and determine the risk of having a heart disease. After finishing the test, I think by body got better. I thought I was okay. I proceed to another check up.
The doctor declared a blocked artery in my heart. And to know more about this, I needed to undergo Angiogram test. When I knew about the said test, I got nervous a little because a little thin tube will be placed near my pulse. Thankfully, the operation was covered by my health card. They recommend admitting me in the hospital, but I declined. Instead, I went here in the church to attend the ExCEL service. I heard another inspiring testimony from Sis. Eleonor Sulit who assured me that I will be healed I know that God is very powerful and this disease will surely be gone. Before my operation, I still went to work because I really think I was fine. I did not feel chest pains and other symptoms of Coronary Angioplasty disease. One of my burdens is also taking the angioplasty which costs half a million pesos. I do not like to waste my wife’s money for I know she worked hard for that. My wife has also vertigo and she went through a lot of hardships before we come to this point.
The day of my operation came and when the syringe needle was injected, it caused great pain which made me fall asleep.
When I wake up, miraculously, my doctor told me that there’s no artery blocks in my heart. I was lucky as the doctor said, but I do believe that it is because God has blessed me and favored my life. I don’t need to take a heart by-pass surgery anymore. I was amazed by how God performed His miracle towards me. Indeed, with God, nothing is impossible.
He hears our prayers and sees our efforts. So, my dear brothers and sisters, no matter what you are going through right now, do not hesitate to come before the Lord. Keep on believing!
