Honestly, I do not know how to start my life testimony because I cannot boast for the Lord is the One who has changed my life.
I was a former policeman and I retired in Manila. We’re originally from Quiapo but we have transferred here in Cavite.
My previous life is very complicated. I have committed a lot of sin. I have abused my power as a policeman. I also admit I have not been faithful to my wife.I want to thank God for the life of my son, Marlou because he is the one who brought me here. The Lord has changed me gradually upon knowing Him and His Word.
I came here to testify about idolatry. From the moment I was baptized, the Lord told me, I should worship Him alone. However, there are many statues and wooden idols in our house. A time came when I couldn’t sleep for two nights because the Holy Spirit was prompting me to break those statues. My wife is still a Catholic so she did not agree to remove them. Then I talked with her, along with my son. She said that we can’t take them away. She prefers to put them in one place. What I did on the altar is that I turned the idols down, and faced them to the wall. However, I was not satisfied because the Lord says I should crush them. That’s why I told to my wife again to remove them from here. However, she wants to move them from her brother’s house.
Then, I placed it inside a sack. Together with my son, we went to a bridge. When I’m about to drop it, I suddenly heard a whisper in my ears, “Crush it.” That meant He did not want me to throw the saints. Nevertheless, we went back to the village, and then I told Marlou to bring me a hammer. We crushed the statues in an abandoned house near our place. The neighbors saw that I break the saints. One of them said, “Why did you crush it? You should at least give it to me.” But, I did not answer nor give it to them.
Lastly, I put them again inside a sack, and went to the bridge to throw the crushed statues. Another whispered I heard not to throw it there. So, I just put it in the trash bin. The next morning my wife came down, and she saw that the saints are not there, she went outside and less than 15 minutes, suddenly came in, knocked at our door. She called in and said, “Why did you crush those saints? Did I say not you deliver them to my brother instead? Is that too hard, why did you crush them?”
I knew someone had told her on what happened the previous day. When I heard the rising voice of her voice, my hands reached out to her and told her that she has already accepted the Lord Jesus. I made her realize how good our Lord is. She was silent while staring at me and for a few seconds she couldn’t answer. I thought she would freak out. Instead she mouthed, “Honey, have you eaten? I’m so sorry. Thank you for showing me your God’s power and goodness.”
The only thing that the Lord wants to convey is that we should not worship other gods except Him. From now on, I’m confident that I’ll only worship Him. Here I am to witness that God is alive and He is always with us. God has revealed to me His message found in Exodus 20: 1-6. Truth to be told, He has done many good things in my life. He answered all my prayers. Indeed, I have experienced God’s goodness and there I know that He is good.
