“I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through him who gives me strength.” (Philippians 4:11-13 NIV)
Apostle Paul’s life was full of burdens and pressures, yet he experienced unexplainable contentment. Just like what we are experiencing today, the world can bombard us with uncertainties. All that we have can all be gone tomorrow.
When everything is spinning out of control, God reminds us to find contentment in our hearts. Contentment teaches us to focus on our Provider, not on the provision. Everything we have is a gift from God. Our loving family, our business, and our health are gifts from God. Contentment is found by those who acknowledge that they are dependent on God.
