One morning, while having my usual cup of coffee, I remembered a line from a TV commercial asking, “Para kanino ka bumabangon?” Some days just get so tough and make you feel like you don’t even want to get up anymore. Answering the question from this ad, I was reminded that I was made to WORSHIP!
Young and old alike, as we go on our journey in a life of worship, we will have our ups and downs because HE promised not a smooth road but a faithful and loving driver, who will be with us all the way, no matter what—JESUS.
To the SEASONED: The hurdles of life, the physical limitations and the battle-scarred-hearts make us feel insecure and insignificant, leaving us tormented to sing a line from a song that says, “And now, the end is near…” instead of “To worship You I live…”
To the Youth: Having a lot of energy and being ambitious and idealistic sometimes lead us to become worriers instead of WORSHIPERS. Don’t get me wrong, God wants to see us succeed and His plan is to prosper us that is why having a VISION is very important; but in doing so, may we never forget the core purpose of our life and when tested, may we choose to do what is right and pleasing before God’s sight because that is WORSHIP.
Now, I am at the middle of the SEASONED and the YOUNG, I realized that this state is complicated and challenging. Honestly, there are times when I feel limited and helpless but I thank the Lord for always telling me that it’s not yet over until it is done, the passion in my heart to WORSHIP Him keeps me going, dreaming and striving…
Let me share with you His word that encourages me in this season:
“17Since my youth, God, you have taught me,
and to this day I declare your marvelous deeds.
18 Even when I am old and gray,
do not forsake me, my God,
till I declare your power to the next generation,
your mighty acts to all who are to come.” Psalms 71: 17-18
This is my prayer and challenge for all of us: Regardless of our age and no matter how difficult our situation could become, may we always choose to be the WORSHIP GENERATION who will never stop to proclaim His message of faith, hope and love until our last breath.
Together, let us fight a good fight and finish the race!
Coffeely yours,
Rolette Frias
