Good morning everyone! I am Ven, one of the volunteers here in our church- from the Ushering Ministry. My testimony is about my family’s condition about a year ago. My father is an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW). When we knew that his stay here will take two months, we got excited. Everyone was too happy because of my father’s arrival. After a month of overjoy, no pain nor sadness with him, something had happened.
When I got home from work, it feels like there was no one at home until I saw my mom and dad, not talking to each other. My sister said, they are just had a misunderstanding. I know it’s normal for a couple and the fight lasted for 2 weeks and more. We never expect that misunderstanding would cause them to hurt each other. They came to a point that they tried to kill each other.
It was a burden for me because I am the only one who’s attending here at COG and the rest of us are not so deeply rooted in the Lord. Suddenly, our home was filled with bitterness and anger that I could not feel their love towards each other anymore. My mom said that she’s ready to leave Dad. I worked hard for them to reconcile. Upon knowing that they are going to separate, I felt that all of my achievements are worthless.
I have attended ExCEL service every Saturday. I prayed and knelt this to the Lord. After a week, my father talked to me and said, “I can’t do anything Anak. It’s up to you whose side you are going.” But I did not answer, I just kept quiet. That Saturday, as Pastor Anthony’s speaking in the middle, I remembered about our family’s situation when he said that we should surrender all our worries to God, kneel and pray all your troubles to the Lord. And I prayed “I’m going to give these to You, God. I surrender everything. I believe that everything happens according to Your will!”
It was Sunday, I took my family to church, and I was so overwhelmed because I saw my family praising God. I just don’t know how it happened because after that service, my Dad acted normal that seemed like nothing happened. My Mom and Dad just smiled at each other.
My life was nearly having a broken family but God restored it from the works of the enemy. I almost gave in but the Lord continued the fight. Today, I am here to testify that nothing is impossible if you kneel down, if you trust the Lord and if you ask Him to take control of everything. I would like to share you this verse that I have hold on to since the beginning. It says in Psalms 106: 1, “Praise the Lord. Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever.”
All the praises belong to the Lord!
