I am Bro. Jeric and I am standing by the grace and mercy of God. I just want to share God’s power how He moved in my life and to my wife.
Before anything else, I want to share something about my family and how it is related to our situation. This is my family.
Our family’s life story is not that good to be told. We have grown in sin- dishonoring our parents, stealing, immorality, anger, envy and even bad feelings to each other. Our parents are too kind that people are wondering why we behave that way. My mom was the first to be the Christian in our family. She used to pray for us to change to the point that even when we were sleeping, she had to do so.
An incident came to us way back 1995, after the storm “Rosing” came to the Philippines and it was weeks without electricity. When it was restored, I and my siblings we’re at our house together. While the gates and doors were closed, my two siblings came to an argument. It was our youngest sibling and the one before him. It happened due to a very petty reason but they turned to such a huge fight. They were shouting loudly that made I and my sister joined the argument. Suddenly, while we were in the heat of the fight, a very loud sound above our roof was heard which also made our house get shaken like an earthquake. “Bang!” From the ground, going upwards the shake was like a rattling sound that you won’t believe it! We were all shaking in fear! We don’t believe actually in God, but because of what happened, it made us pray. The gate opened then, our mom knocked. She saw us covered in fear and we told her what happened. I went outside and asked a neighbor if there was an earthquake. She said: “No, it never happened, but I heard a sound that fall in your roof.” I checked and look to see if something fall over our roof or if it is deformed but it’s not. When I became Born-Again Christian year 2003, that’s when I realized that it was God who shook our house.

We are serving GOD through the KID Ministry (Kabataan Iwas Droga Movement). We go to schools to teach about drug awareness and I am also supporting our leaders here at Church of God during ExCEL services.
Our situation wayback 2016 was when we got married. We kept on praying to have a child. We were waiting for the Lord’s timing. Her menstruation is irregular ever since she was 14 years old. It took her 3-4 months before she will have a period and she never went to an OB for a check up. She thought it was normal or something that she adapted from her mom because it is the same case with her. Along our marriage, our parents would ask us, “When will you give us a grandchild?” I was so pressured and would just tell them; “God has a right timing for it.” That’s what I would always say. There was a time that my wife’s nieces were drunk. At her parents’ house when they called me out of nowhere, they had said, “Are you impotent? You know, if you want your wife to get pregnant easily you must join us here drinking. You just lack some alcohol in your body.” During those times, I was really tempted and may God forgive me! But, I did not do it. I just diverted the conversation into jokes with them. But God knew what was inside of my heart. I was hurting that time hearing those words. The Lord saw what happened when I prayed to Him. Whenever I was attending ExCEL services and hearing Ptr. Anthony Velasco as he has preached about the life of Manoa, father of Samson including Hanna, and the faith of the centurion by Ptr. Gary Yalung. I was deeply moved and encouraged that it built up my faith through the help of their preachings.
It was August 4, 2018 when Ptr. Gary preached about the Faith of the Centurion from the Bible. God reminded me of what happened to our family way back 1995. While praying that time, I was so desperate that I asked God, “If You took Your time to shake our home that time when we were sinners. Now that we are serving You, can You please touch my wife’s womb?” That was my exact prayer while crying so hard to Him. I was assigned to assist during lay hands that time and while catching people, assisting our church leaders praying for the congregation, I was crying. I was the last one who was prayed over and laid hands after the congregation was finished. And I remembered the words of the leader who prayed for me in which I didn’t tell my situation. I was shocked when he uttered these words in prayer saying; “God, You know the prayers of my brother. He is praying for a child and You know that he is not serving You well because of it.” He prayed for the Lord’s timing about what we are praying and asking for a child. That day was so remarkable! I was so encouraged and the Lord kept on encouraging me too. Months had passed that I was expecting something from Him. My parents-in-law were asking again when would they have a grandchild. I will say to them, “Next month! We will surely have!”
It was November 2018 when my wife was praying with me for a child. There’s a time specifically designed by God for us to have it. In her prayer, she thought the reason why we couldn’t is because of her many sins in the past. That it was a punishment from God. She pleaded and asked for mercy and forgiveness with praise. And then, December came. She still didn’t have a her period and she’s still thinking that it was normal and would take 3 to 4 months as usual.
On December 21, 2018, I prayed and had this feeling of desperation and need for God. I said, “Lord, how can I tell the story of my experience that You have given me?” That day, my wife decided to take a pregnancy test cause she felt like having a baby due to symptoms. To our surprise, the results were positive! I had her take it twice just to be sure! I just prayed and gave thanks to God as we consider this as the best Christmas gift that we ever have.
We went to an OB Gynecologist for an ultrasound last January 12, 2019 and we discovered that my wife was already 2 months pregnant ( 8 weeks and 5 days to be exact).
Now, she is in her 5th month of pregnancy.
Each of us pray for something that the Lord has not answered yet: God is reminding us that He hears you. You are not bothering Him. When God had shaken our house before when we were sinners and still experienced a miracle? How about you who keep on serving Him? Have fear in Him for you do have the advantage! We just need to be desperate and be serious with what we are asking. Be persistent and have the perseverance. Surely, God will honor your prayers. Expect miracle to happen and hold on to God no matter what! Here are the biblical verses I have hold unto:1 Sam. 21:10-13 and Psalm 142:1-6.
