Are you afraid of getting older? Here is a good illustration of a woman who never stopped serving until her old age, and she found favor from the Lord.
“Now there was one, Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was of a great age, and had lived with a husband seven years from her virginity; and this woman was a widow of about eighty-four years, who did not depart from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day. And coming in that instant she gave thanks to the Lord, and spoke of Him to all those who looked for redemption in Jerusalem.” (Luke 2:36-38, NKJV)
Here are the four things which this old woman reminds us today:
1. She did not depart from the temple.
2. She served God with prayers and fasting.
3. She gave thanks to the Lord.
4. She spoke of Him (evangelism).
Getting old will be more interesting if we will do what Anna did. Her dedication to God is truly remarkable. In the end, she found favor from the Lord when she saw Jesus.
Remember, if you never stop serving, your labor in the Lord is not in vain.
