When we talk about the heart, we usually refer to our emotions. And most of the time, we act and make a decision based on what we feel. It is not right for us to merely depend on our emotions, because it will lead us to troubles and failures in life.
When the Bible refers to the heart, it talks about our whole being; not just our emotions. One’s heart includes the whole package—the mind, the soul, and the will. When God asks for your heart, He asks for everything. When God controls our heart, He has control of everything.
