Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the Lord forever.” (Psalms 23:6 NLT)
David understood what “God’s goodness” really was. He knew it had nothing to do with wealth, position, or power. It has everything to do with a real relationship with a loving God.
Years before David enjoyed life in the palace, he had experienced the goodness of God out in the fields tending a flock of sheep. When David needed courage, God was there. When he needed wisdom, God was there. When he needed forgiveness, God was there. When he needed hope, God was still there.
The Great Shepherd will also be there for you! One by one, thank Him for all the wonderful ways He demonstrates His goodness towards you.
As what a song writer once wrote:
“In Christ alone, I place my trust. And find my glory in the power of the cross. In every victory, let it be said of me, my source of strength, my source of hope is Christ alone!”
