Let me share with you one of the most beautiful acrostics that I’ve read:
M — is for the million things she gave me,
O — means only that she’s growing old,
T — is for the tears that were shed to save me,
H — is for her heart as pure as gold,
E — is for her eyes with love-light shining,
R — means right and right she’ll always be.
Mothers are truly a gift from God. This month is dedicated to thank God for His goodness by giving us our mothers and an occasion for allowing that gratitude to become expressions of honoring them.
“Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.” — Proverbs 31:30 (NIV)
This passage is not just for women. It’s for everyone who has fear in the Lord. A person who fears the Lord will not run away from God to satisfy his or her longings. He will wait for the Lord. He will stay close to the heart of God and trust in His promises. Therefore, the fear of the Lord is accompanied by tremendous blessing.
Not only does praising a person who fears the Lord feel good; it also honors God, which is the most important of all.
A SALUTE TO ALL MOTHERS AND TO EVERYONE WHO FEARS THE LORD,
Ptr. Gary Yalung
