A great morning to everyone! I am Andrei, from Youth Empowered Ministry. I would like to tell you about my brother who had a medical condition, a type of disease that is very timely nowadays.
I can distinctly remember while I was at work, my aunt sent me a message me that he had a fever. When I asked what had happened, they didn’t respond to me anymore. I was really worried until I knew that he was one of the victims of the controversial Dengvaxia vaccine. I had to go home and see him. My brother became skinny and looked more pale the last time I saw him.
We were told that he was required to undergo three blood tests. For the succeeding days, I became his companion in the hospital. On the first blood test, his white blood cells count 4.7mm3.
While on the second test,it reached 3.2 mm3, which is lower than normal count of white blood cells.
However, when the third test came, it was also a Saturday, I was reminded that we have ExCEL service at 7:30 AM. We were supposed to come to the hospital by 8 AM but I left and went to our ExCEL service first. When I was in the sanctuary, I prayed for him. I promised God that one day, I would stand in the pulpit to declare about His goodness.
Nonetheless, the third test reached 2.5mm3.
Because of this, they had to examine my brother again for the last time. They advised me to bring his real guardian because if it continues to reach low, he will surely be confined. On the other hand, the night before we went to the hospital, the Lord encouraged me to put my trust in Him. He spoke to me through this verse, in Mark 9:23 says, “Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”
I, together with my aunt and grandmother, accompanied my brother to the hospital. The nurse handed me the results. While I was waking, with the results in my hands, I sincerely prayed for it that no matter what result it would be, I would continue to trust Him. The moment I opened the result and read it, I instantly uttered my praises to God. Why? Because from 2.5mm3, it surprisingly turned to 5.1mm3, a normal range for WBC counts.
I can say that life will place you at your lowest point. It will make you feel that there is no hope anymore. But the Lord is teaching us that He is our hope. Not to mention, but my thirteen-year old-brother is now part of the Ushering Ministry. He now assists the congregation during the ExCEL Service.
I just remember what I told the Lord the first time I attended and that one Saturday I will stand here. And here I am, standing boldly and telling you that something always changes if you trust God.
To God be all the glory!
