How do you face the present situation? We may be living in a very difficult time of our lives because of this worldwide pandemic. Nobody wants it and we are not sure how will this end. Many people are feeling the discomfort of staying idle at home, losing their income, and not being able to do what they used to do. Some of us may have complained to God about Him allowing these things to happen to us.
Friends, our situation is no different from the trials Paul experienced during his time of ministry. He faced too much trouble and was even bold enough to describe these troubles as crushing, overwhelming, and near-death experiences. But in spite of what had happened, he discovered a very important lesson about God.
2 Corinthians 1:8-10 NLT
“We think you ought to know, dear brothers and sisters, about the trouble we went through in the province of Asia. We were crushed and overwhelmed beyond our ability to endure, and we thought we would never live through it. In fact, we expected to die. But as a result, we stopped relying on ourselves and learned to rely only on God, who raises the dead. And he did rescue us from mortal danger, and he will rescue us again. We have placed our confidence in him, and he will continue to rescue us.”
From the crushing, overwhelming, and near-death experiences Paul had while serving the Lord, they all resulted in reliance unto God. For that reason, the Lord rescued him from all his troubles. Whenever God puts us in a very difficult situation, it only means we have to stop relying on ourselves and start relying on God and His plan because He will surely rescue us from all troubles.
Friends, this pandemic may have brought us to different crushing moments. But, these will soon come to pass. Let us start putting our reliance on God alone and He will make sure to rescue us from all our troubles in life.
God bless you.
