In Mark 11:24 says, “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”
Bro. Mark and his wife experienced God’s miracle through ExCEL service. After they were married on April 2, 2016, they both dreamt to have a baby. In six months, they both prayed for it but nothing happened. After six months, they decided to have a regular consultation with an OB-GYN. They waited for three months but still, there was no baby until the OB-GYN prescribed a medicine that could help boost the chances of ovulation, which his wife had to take for two weeks.
In April 2017, his wife got a positive result in her pregnancy kit. Because of the excitement, Bro. Mark and his wife told their loved ones as soon as they received the results. They bought maternity clothes for Bro. Mark’s wife, and they even told the news to the soon-to-be godparents. Later, the OB-GYN scheduled his wife to go back for an ultrasound. After a few days, they went back and the OB-GYN told them that there was no baby found in the ultrasound. The doctor said that it was best for his wife to undergo curettage as soon as possible. Bro. Mark and his wife were in disbelief with what happened at that time which was why they asked for a second opinion for an ultrasound at DLSUMC hospital.
At that time, he asked God about what was happening in their lives because all they wanted was to have a baby. He also entrusted everything and prayed for the Lord’s guidance upon them because they had no idea what they were going to do next. After that, they decided to change their OB-GYN and they saw the results that it was confirmed that there was no baby.
For Bro. Mark, the reason why it was happening in their lives because God wanted them to start over because, at that time, they were still church-goers. In June 2017, the curettage was successfully performed. Following that event, they decided to attend ExCEL services. They also had joined a C2S group and a ministry. At an ExCEL service, they heard about Dr. Ryan’s testimony and that testimony touched their hearts and enabled them to trust the Lord more. They claimed that they are going to have a baby and his wife told him that time would come where both of them would testify what God had done in their lives. They attended every service and continuously prayed.
Some time later, they went to the hospital to have a follow-up check-up, but the doctor said that Bro. Mark’s wife must undergo the Beta HCG test for six months and every two weeks. If not, then she needed to undergo dialysis. Suddenly, his wife started not having menstruation flow and experienced hair fall. Both of them lost hope to have a baby until with every check-up, the doctor stated that there had been improvement and his wife’s Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) can be eliminated.
On February 2019, his wife became pregnant again. He prayed to the Lord and he said, “Lord, salamat. Pinagkalooban Ninyo ulit kami ng baby. Pero, Lord, ayaw na naming maulit yung dati. Kayo na po ang bahala. Pinagkakatiwala po namin ang lahat sa Inyo at Lord we’ll claim this.” They talked to his wife’s OB-GYN and scheduled an ultrasound.
On March 21, they saw the baby. His wife and the baby were both doing well in every check-up and the doctor could not see any problem regarding Bro. Mark’s wife and their baby.
On August 2019, they got another ultrasound to tell the baby’s gender and it was revealed to be that they were having a girl. They named the baby “Maia” which means,“close to God” in Hebrew and “Amaris” meaning, “given by God.”
On October 30, Maia Amaris was born. After a years of praying and entrusting everything to the Lord, both of them are happy because of God’s gift to them.
Bro. Mark and his wife’s story is a wonderful testimony about how surrendering to God produces fruitful results. In life, we may experience different challenges, but when we entrust everything to God, we will have one story to tell—a story of how God came to make us victorious above it all. May this story inspire you to keep on going. May this story inspire you to keep on fighting.
