Hi! I am Abigail Urbano. I am a working student. In 2013, I got a scholarship from one of the prestige universities. Today, I would like to share how the Lord bestowed His goodness in our lives.
In May 2018, my mother, Maria Cristina Urbano, was rushed to the hospital because her blood pressure reached 200/100. While I was on my way there, I kept on praying to the Lord; I did not want her to feel hopeless. I kept on encouraging her that we could get through this. We were also worried about the expenses. However, God showed His goodness to us. My mother’s blood pressure normalized and with the help of my friend, she was then discharged from the hospital.
After a week, she told me that she felt some numbness in her face and especially on the other side of her body and other symptoms of stroke. When we have reached the emergency room, we were frightened because she was already diagnosed to have mild stroke, she had to undergo CT-Scan and the doctor advised us that she needed to be confined in the ICU. At that moment, I was holding back my tears; we do not know where to get the money and to think that we have no resources to pay made me weak. Despite the fear I have felt, I still thank the Lord and prayed. I held on to His promises because I know that He has a plan for us.
We decided to have my mother discharged from the hospital regardless of her situation. I strongly believe that God is the only One who can heal my mother. Even though I was busy with my studies, I tried my best to manage my time so that I will be able to take care of her.
The struggles did not end there. My sister approached me and told me that mom wanted to go back to the hospital. When I heard that, I instantly laid my hands upon her and prayed, “Lord, take control of everything. Let Your healing flow.” While she was in the emergency room, I went outside and looked up to the sky, “Lord, hear my prayers. I cannot afford to lose my mother. My God, please heal her.”
Several hours had passed, her blood pressure went normal once again! God provided our needs to take therapies and we were surprised by her fast recovery. She finished her session shorter than expected. We have received His overflowing blessings; hopefully next year I can finish my course, BSBA Major in Marketing special track in service management. Not only that, I will also attend our company’s awarding in doing excellent performance at work.
In this season, God made me realize one thing: It is indeed hard to follow His ways but there will always be an unexplainable experience when you know that the God whom you serve will always be there to guide, provide for and heal you.
To God be all the glory!
