A blessed morning, brothers and sisters! It is nice to be here in the house of the Lord because today, I am about to tell you on how God, whom I serve, healed me. An incident on November 2018 changed my life. I was walking in Alabang when my vertigo attacked me and I landed on the sidewalk in front of one of the hotels nearby. Then, I was rushed to the nearest hospital. It was at Asian hospital, one of the most expensive hospitals here in Alabang. Muntinlupa City.
That night after the accident, the results were very bad. In the pictures below, you can see that my bones were fractured. I also had a nasal fracture wherein the inner nose bones were fractured. I needed to undergo an operation that costs PHP128K not including the doctors fee, and knowing that I was admitted in this expensive hospital, I immediately prayed to God.
After the operation it went up to PHP145K excluding the Doctors fee, I have four doctors that time, in a simple math we can say that my bill reached for more than 160K. But, I just have PHP 22,000 plus my health card. Later that realization, I found myself praying, “Lord Jesus, I am not Your ordinary child, I’m Your servant. I teach and spread Your Word. Can you fight this battle with me? My problems are already piled up. Can You lift me up? Let me just breathe in the middle of this suffocating situation.” Thereafter, God answered me and said, “Adette, it’s a small thing.” Yet, I cannot understand what He meant by that.
After a few hours, Pastor Rodel, Sis. Pearl together with my friend, visited me. In a conversation with my friends online, my best friend in Canada asked me about what happened. She told me that she can’t bear to see what I have become. But, I was shocked when she messaged me and said to get the money from her sister. This is it, Lord! Is this the small thing that You are talking about, God? You even used unbelievers to finally pay my bills.
Surprisingly, something came up to the person that my best friend was referring to. She said she cannot go back to the hospital again. Little did I know, It was not His plans for me. The sayings, ‘Pera na, naging bato pa!’ is really in my thoughts during that time. I talked to God, “Are you kidding me, Lord? I still believe in Your promises but If you’re going to use others as your instrument, where is Your working hand? I want to feel it once more, Lord God.”
I do not know why but I instructed my son to go to the office and to compute my medical bills. When he came back, his face was too serious. He said that our hospital bills had reached two hundred…I instantly panicked and cut him off, “What? Where are we going to get those two hundred thousand pesos?! You know that I cannot ask for that large amount from my friend!”
My son hussed me and he continue what he is saying, “Mommy, our hospital bill is just TWO HUNDRED THIRTY PESOS.”
Indeed, God is real! My money on hand is too much yet I still complain. Finally, I do not need to worry about the expenses. Truly, He is true in His promises! I stopped celebrating when my son asks on how can we get home because we do not even have a car. Hence, I cheered him up, “Do not worry, son. We have lots of money. We will take Grab.”
I believe this morning, everyone of us has his or her own burden. Each has prayers that need to be answered. And so I tell you that this morning, He is answering you, “Anak, maliit na bagay.” As He said in His Word, ‘Is there anything hard for Me?’ which means that everything is just easy for the Lord and no terminal illness can stop Him from healing His beloved children. Always remember that His ways are better than ours. And God moves in a much unexpected way, that human beings cannot imagine. Today, fellow believers, as we come before the Lord, let us thank Him because He will definitely answer our prayers.
