The first Gentile believers of Baby Jesus must be the role model for many. Though they were miles away from the promised land, their hearts longed for their Savior. They traveled so far with their gifts and treasures, facing the risk of their journey; just to be able to see the baby born in Bethlehem: Jesus, Our Savior on the first Christmas day. Who are these first Gentile believers? — the Wise Men from the East.
Matthew 2:1-2 (NKJV):
“1 Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the East came to Jerusalem,
2 saying, ‘Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the East and have come to worship Him.’”
What did they teach us?
1.They searched diligently and the Lord revealed to them about the birth of Jesus.
2.They were not afraid to face even King Herod, who was known to be rude.
3.They worshipped Jesus by bringing Him treasures and gifts.
With these events, the Holy Spirit guided them until they were all safe. This Christmas season, let us not forget to worship Jesus in the sanctuary. Let the Holy Spirit guide you and give you courage to face any obstacle; for God’s love is shown when He gave Jesus to save mankind from sin.
Merry Christmas everyone,
