I always have this notion that all “not so good things” that are happening will get consumed and they will end in their due time. Whenever I get frustrated, struck down, defeated, I always say to myself, “Matatapos din ‘to!”. [“This will come to an end, too”].
But what if it doesn’t end the way you perceive it? What if someone has to risk his life just to end it? Will you still want to pursue ending it?
As people living in this imperfect world, we all have our part of “not so good things” happening to us. It could be in our family, “unforgiving” relationships, “never ending” financial instabilities, “obviously hopeless” marriages, and terminal “ayoko na” diseases.
This is what I want to share with all my heart when I say “Matatapos din ‘to!”
First, I look unto the LORD, believing that He has made it all done before this day has come. Second, I reassure myself that through the power of Jesus Christ, He has equipped me with all that I need for doing His will, that I may be able to do every good thing that is pleasing to His sight.
There is wisdom in trusting God in our “not so good things”. You have to know and believe that our God is above all things. In Ecclesiastes 7:14 ESV, “In the day of prosperity be joyful, and in the day of adversity consider: God has made the one as well as the other, so that man may not find out anything that will be after him.” He has allowed prosperity and he has allowed adversities too, but above all, all these things are meant to give him glory.
Don’t be afraid or discouraged whenever God wants you to start again. New beginnings are blessings that come with a favor of wisdom. The Lord has ended this “not so good things” as an avenue of our refining moments with HIM. And in these refining moments, WORSHIP has a very significant part. Worship develops your heart in trusting God above all things. Worship wipes out the blurry parts of the window so you can see the purpose of what God is doing more clearly. So when you face these situations again, you are assured that you’ll face it like never before. Psalm 28:7 NLT “The Lord is my strength and shield. I trust him with all my heart. He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy. I burst out in songs of thanksgiving.”
Will you trust God with your new beginnings, even if you cannot see them yet?
Embrace new beginnings, and be excited about them! Get excited to face them like never before! His new beginnings for you will always be different from the rest, so don’t miss God’s best!
