As God delivered the Israelites from slavery in Egypt to bring them to the promised land, they still worshipped other gods while in the wilderness, rather than the God of Israel. This made God disappointed with Israel and was about to leave these people along the journey. However, Moses, their leader, chose to seek the Lord in spite of God’s disappointment. Moses pitched his tent outside the camp and waited for the Lord. Then, the Lord met him.
Exodus 33:10-11 (NKJV) says:
“All the people saw the pillar of cloud standing at the tabernacle door, and all the people rose and worshiped, each man in his tent door. So the Lord spoke to Moses face to face, as a man speaks to his friend…” (No face mask? Just kidding!)
One thing I noticed about this scene, is that even in such disappointing situation, God is looking for someone who will sincerely seek Him. God cares for you. God has the answer for every unpleasant situation happening in this world. And do you know how God really want to talk to you? Face to face. No face mask, no face shield, no cover at all. God wants to speak to you intimately. God wants you to listen to Him as He speaks to your heart. But how? Just schedule a special time and place inside your room, prepare your heart in worship, start reading His Word, and let Him speak to your heart. Then, you will find out that He is a friend, ready to deliver you from all your troubles.
Do not allow other earthly tasks to take the place of your special time with the Lord. Extended Community Quarantine keeps you indoors, but that cannot keep you from seeking a friend like Jesus, face to face.
Everyday seeking the Lord with you,
