Matthew 4:1-3 MSG says:
“Jesus was taken into the wild by the Spirit for the Test. The devil was ready to give it. But Jesus prepared for the test by fasting 40 days and 40 nights.”
And surely the devil will take advantage of that extreme hunger. But Jesus says in verse 4: “It takes more than bread to stay alive. It takes a steady stream of words from God’s mouth.”
We may not be able to fast this year as a church so as not to bring down our immune system, but this first quarter of the year is a good time to seek the Lord more passionately to prepare us for the battles ahead; not to lose the fight but to win it victoriously for Christ!
We never know what’s coming up this 2021. Others are still feeling depressed and fearful in this pandemic, but we can choose to believe, worship, and put our full trust to the One that can heal, save and turn things around on our favor.
May this 2021 be a season of being so addicted and deeply in love with God; to desire for the Great I AM to move powerfully in our lives and see greater breakthroughs and miracles right in front of our eyes! God bless you more this year, church. I am excited for all of you! And may His personal covenant, His ‘one-liner’ for you and His stream of mighty words rule over our lives.
