Good day, brothers and sisters in Christ! I am Amy Atas and this testimony is from a long time ago. Nevertheless, I want to share how God has been faithful to us.
My son was abducted by a group of men. It was during the first day of their class, his friends told us that he was last seen with strangers and from then on, he could not be found. My motherly instincts told me to worry, but then I prayed to God, “Lord I know that you are in control of everything. Help me to trust in You. Help me with my doubts.”
I raised my child from his birth and all of a sudden, he is nowhere to be found. It was very painful for me. I cannot imagine the possibility that I may no longer see him. I know every parent will agree that it was really hard.
Nevertheless, I surrendered all to God. I prayed that He would give me peace and make my heart at ease. I asked Him to protect my child wherever he may be. Even when our neighbor discouraged us, I did not lose hope and I still held on to the promises that God has given me all along.
We went to the police station to report about him being missing. The policeman suggested that we wait for 24 hours. I disagreed with him, because my son usually goes straight home after his class, before the sun sets.
However, I laid down and slept with peace in my heart. God gave me the assurance that I will find my child soon. In the middle of the night, I saw my son on the front door. He was safe! “Thank God!”, I exclaimed.
He then told us what he went through the hands of the kidnappers. He was on his way home when a group of men suddenly trapped him. They would just keep roaming day and night, with no exact place to stay in. They tied him up and threatened him with a gun many times. He got a chance to escape but the place was not familiar to him. He saw an old woman who sells rags on the way. He asked her where he is and she said he was in Baclaran. When the woman heard what happened to my son, she helped him get on a bus going back to Cavite. She handed him some money and even stayed at the terminal. She did not leave my son until the bus drove off.
Since then, I decided to fully trust the Lord no matter what happens. He protected my son all the way and used someone as an instrument to prove to us that everything is in His hands. I am very thankful. Truly, nothing is impossible to those who believe. Let us put our trust only to Him and surely, He will make His own ways not to fail us.
Praises and glory belong to our God!
