“Eventually, a new king came to power in Egypt who knew nothing about Joseph or what he had done. When new problems arise, some people including Born Again Christians, often forget that the Lord is in control.” (Exodus 1:8, NLT)
This is what happened to Israel when they multiplied and became a big nation in Egypt. Even the new king of Egypt knew nothing about Joseph and how God brought His people to their country. So he made them slaves and gave them hard labor.
But, we are just seeing the first part of the story. We read in Exodus 6 that the Lord has never forgotten His people. Even though they are suffering as slaves, God will soon set them free and fulfill His covenant. God will hear the cry of His people and redeem them to be a great nation.
Exodus 6:1-2 NKJV says:
“Then the Lord said to Moses, “Now you shall see what I will do to Pharaoh. For with a strong hand he will let them go, and with a strong hand he will drive them out of his land.” And God spoke to Moses and said to him: “I am the Lord.”
When God promises us something, He will surely fulfill it and redeem us from great trouble. Go back to His promises and claim them! Soon, we will see that even in the worst time of our lives, ‘The Great I Am’ is in control.
God richly bless you.
