How do you normally start your everyday journey?
In the busyness of our daily activities, we are often tempted to dive in right away to our list of things to be accomplished. While this may seem strange to us at first, it begins to make more sense when we pause to think about our lives in this fallen age and prioritize communication with our Creator through prayer first.
Living in this age has been very challenging with fears and battles within (2 Corinthians 7:5), our default is not always to offer praise and thanks. Often we find ourselves—if not most often—in the posture of complaining, pleading to God for help, healing, remedy, and rescue. As we focus on our weaknesses and struggles in life, we lose our spiritual vigor.
Everytime we are tempted to focus on our struggles, it will be a great habit to recall the truth of God’s promises and God’s commitment to His glory, allowing ourselves to experience His steadfast love as mentioned in the Scriptures.
Turn, O Lord, deliver my life; save me for the sake of your steadfast love. (Psalm 6:4 ESV)
