Sis. Carmie Villareal’s testimony will surely be an inspiration to everyone who have been praying to be healed. Let her story be known and let God be glorified in her testimony.
Sis. Carmie Villareal has believed that she used to have an eye disease as her eyes got sores and the pain radiated through her head. According to the doctor, she might get blind because of this. She had to undergo an eye scan and CT Scan.
Sis. Carmie shared about her family. Her dad was beaten by unknown people at that time. The challenge for her is that only two of them (her mother) who believe and have faith to God. She talked to her mother, but it took them a long time to realize the situation. She thought that her family was in a worse situation. Because of this problem, Sis. Carmie’s faith was put into test. She started to question God, and doubt Him. She had a misunderstanding with her mom and her mother wanted her to ask for forgiveness. But, Carmie never did.
Going back, her headaches suddenly became extreme. These caused too much pain that half of her body became numb. She ran to a different hospital. However, they had one diagnosis about her: she’s fine. She did not even have a stroke but every part of her body was already numb. Her mother still encouraged her to repent to the Lord because they’ve been arguing for a long period of time. She kept on rejecting her mom’s advice.
After finding a hospital where they can address her symptoms, she resumed attending ExCEL services again. It was said that the symptoms led to Hereditary Spastic Paraplegia (HSP). She was expecting to take any medication but she received nothing. In spite of what she’s going through, she uttered her petition to the Lord. She cried out to the Lord. True enough, God gave her His Word, in Psalm 90:4. Sis. Carmie’s statement explained how God taught her a lesson, “I was encouraged to not look at what is happening around me, but to look for God—to seek Him.”
(Psalms 90:4 says, “For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night.”)
Not only Carmie, everyone of us should always look at God and not to people, because if we won’t do it and follow other’s path, for sure we will also stumble. The Word of the Lord serves as our foundation to continue the fight for us as we put our full trust to the Lord over and over again.
The suffering did not end easily. In fact, it’s getting worse day by day. Meanwhile, Sis. Carmie, didn’t know what to do anymore. The last thing to do is to cut her hair and make herself bald. She was shocked when the doctor told her that the symptoms she was experiencing were already leading to a seizure. She’s having seizures because of a tumor.
However, there are still people that will encourage them until the end. She can vividly recall her leader’s words of encouragement. “As long as you can stand, you can serve. Serve the Lord.” After that, she has focused on attending the said service. She told God every burden she had. She didn’t want to lose sight and she begged Him to give her another chance to see.
Days later, she got the MRI result. With so much faith, she did not open the result. She kept it until her doctor, neurologist, told her that she is now normal.
She did not have any tumor. She was no longer sick because the results are normal. Finally, her headaches were found to be caused by colds. Yes, it’s simply because just colds. It would not kill her.
God answered her prayer- to get an extended life for she longs to see her family changed by God. Again, another message was revealed to her, in James 5:15.
“And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.” -James 5:15
Glory to God even when that happened. The Lord heard her prayer for He brought healing upon Carmie from her illness. It is proven that God will never abandon us. We may have troubles in life but He always teaches us to trust His works and ways.
