This is an honest prayer of an honest man:
“How long, Lord? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me? How long must I wrestle with my thoughts and day after day have sorrow in my heart? Look on me and answer, Lord my God. Give light to my eyes, or I will sleep in death… But I trust in your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in your salvation. I will sing the Lord’s praise, for he has been good to me.”
(Psalms 13:1-6 NIV)
Even as God’s dearly beloved children, we experience difficulties and hardships. So, we keep coming back to His promises and what we know about our Father in heaven.
David declares by faith, “I trust in your unfailing love, …He has been good to me”. You can trust God’s unfailing love today for He has been good. An affectionate earthly father definitely loves his children. He will not turn his back and will always be there in times of need.
“The Lord is like a father to his children, tender and compassionate to those who fear him.” (Psalm 103:13 NLT)
And as we praise our Heavenly Father, we give due honor to our awesome fathers today.
