Campbell Soup President and CEO Denise Morrison, who ranked 21st in Fortune Magazine’s Most Powerful Women in Business in 2011, once said, “The single most important ingredient in the recipe for success is transparency because transparency builds trust.” What an achievement!
In the story of Daniel (Daniel 1:6), he made himself transparent before King Nebuchadnezzar’s chief of training by making a firm stand not to defile nor corrupt himself by taking the king’s food and wine. Instead, he insisted on taking his special meals of vegetables and water. Amazingly, he was gifted with these 3 F’s:
- Favor – Even in the most difficult or almost impossible situation, God’s favor was bestowed upon him;
- Feat – He was more physically fit at the beginning of the training and was more intellectually fit towards the end. In fact, the king found him to be 10 times better than all the trainees in every matter of wisdom and understanding; and
- Future – He became a ruler of the province of Babylon. He was then promoted to be the third ruler of the Babylonian Empire and finally became the second ruler of Medo-Persian Empire.
So if you want to be a successful achiever, transparency is the key.
