In Psalm 118:17 says, “I will not die but live, and will proclaim what the LORD has done.” God has a purpose in each one of us. He is able, the One who gives us hope. We go through a lot of struggles in our lives but by the power of prayers and completely trusting Him no matter what happens, through sickness or diseases. He will surely perform His miraculous works. Indeed, we have a privilege to share His goodness in our lives.
Sis. Norma Macapagal shared her near-death experiences. Way back in February 1978, she was in a coma for five days. She was not a Born-again Christian at that time. But then, she survived. In 2001, she works abroad in Taiwan as a caregiver. She was rushed immediately in the hospital because of her asthma, she did not know what is going to happen because she saw her skin underneath her nails turned into bluish-purple color.
On November 26, 2019, she struggled to breathe that she thought she was having asthma at that time. That is why she has rushed again to the hospital. She thought she was never going to make it because she felt the coldness in her body. She was praying unto the Lord during that time, for her brothers and sisters to pray for her condition. She remembered surrendering everything unto Him through prayers because all she felt at that time was pain. She was about to give up. Days passed, she was brought in ICU and she was glad because she saw her brothers and sisters praying for her. “Yung prayer nila, alam ko na ipinaglalaban nila ako.” She knows that God immediately responds to her because on Sunday, the doctor finally removed the pipes and she was finally moved into another ward. God has given her another chance to live and she knows that He has a purpose in her life, it will not end there.
Sis. Norma had been through a lot of diseases such as Diabetes mellitus (type 2), Hypertension, Congestive heart failure, Bronchial asthma, and Dyslipidemia. But she claimed that “Sakit lang yan, pangalan lang yan, pero mas higit ang pangalan mo Panginoon.” She was grateful to her brothers and sisters who never ceased to pray for her. There’s power in prayer.
She believed that the reason why she’s still standing where she is now is because of God. He has given her a chance and purpose. And she will continue to testify on how God heals and moves in her life.
